Why Irish farmers use it
Irish grassland farming already runs on measurement — weekly walks, grass wedges and rotation planners are standard practice. The bottleneck is time: a full walk with a plate meter takes most of a morning on a bigger block.
Pasture Ai shortens that. Photograph each paddock as you walk, and cover plus quality are recorded instantly. No clicking, no writing figures on a scrap of paper, no transcribing them later.
Assessments build into a grass wedge and a daily growth rate in kg DM/ha/day, with a PDF you can share with your discussion group or advisor.

Frequently asked questions
Can it replace the weekly plate meter walk?
That is exactly what it is built for. You still walk the paddocks, but you photograph instead of clicking, and quality figures come back alongside cover. Farms often run the app beside the plate meter for a couple of walks to build confidence first.
Does Pasture Ai work on Irish farms?
Yes. Pasture Ai works anywhere you have a phone. The model reads sward height, density, colour and structure from the photo itself, so it is not tied to one country's pasture type.
Do I need a plate meter or any hardware?
No. A smartphone is the only device required. There is no plate meter, no C-Dax, no sensors and no calibration equipment to buy or maintain.
What does it measure?
Pasture cover in kgDM/ha, plus DM%, CP% (protein), MJME and NDF% for feed quality. Every assessment is saved against the paddock with the date and location.
Can I do a whole farm walk?
Yes. Assess each paddock in turn and the Farm Walk plan builds a feed wedge, calculates daily pasture growth rate in kgDM/ha/day and produces a PDF report.
How much does it cost to try?
There is a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start the trial and you can cancel anytime from your Account page or by emailing support@pastureai.ai.
