Why Australian farmers use it

Australian pasture swings hard between seasons. Feed that looks adequate in September can be short by November, and knowing the number rather than guessing it is what protects both the pasture and the stock.

Pasture Ai gives you a repeatable measure without adding a device to the ute. Photograph each paddock as you check water and the assessments save with the date and GPS location.

The Farm Walk plan then builds a feed wedge and a daily growth rate figure, so you can see which paddocks are ahead of the round and which need a spell before they are grazed again.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle tropical and subtropical grasses?

Yes. The model reads sward height, density, colour and structure rather than assuming one species, so kikuyu, couch and tropical mixes are assessed the same way as temperate pasture. Self-calibration is available if you want to tighten results for your own paddocks.

Does Pasture Ai work on Australian farms?

Yes. Pasture Ai works anywhere you have a phone. The model reads sward height, density, colour and structure from the photo itself, so it is not tied to one country's pasture type.

Do I need a plate meter or any hardware?

No. A smartphone is the only device required. There is no plate meter, no C-Dax, no sensors and no calibration equipment to buy or maintain.

What does it measure?

Pasture cover in kgDM/ha, plus DM%, CP% (protein), MJME and NDF% for feed quality. Every assessment is saved against the paddock with the date and location.

Can I do a whole farm walk?

Yes. Assess each paddock in turn and the Farm Walk plan builds a feed wedge, calculates daily pasture growth rate in kgDM/ha/day and produces a PDF report.

How much does it cost to try?
